It's Been A While.......

It's been a while since I posted but so many things have happened in the last year since I got my first train and model railway, the biggest one is that we became Grandparents for the first time. Things have calmed down now and will hopefully stay that way for a while so I can get back to building.

Anyway, back to my model railway!  

I have made a start on a couple of small Metcalf kits and thoroughly enjoyed making them.

The first kit was of 4 seats, here is a picture of the first one I made.

The second kit was of 3 station clocks

I am currently working on the farm buildings which consists of a barn, silo pit and 2 hen houses, just got to put the roof on the barn and make the hen houses before I post pictures.

My First Model Train Set

Well, after 50 years I now have my very own first model train set, I am so excited.  Here she is.....

My Husband and Daughters bought her for me, she is the Hornby Caledonian Belle R1151 locomotive and comes with a wagon and passenger coach. 

Today Hubby built a 6ft x 4ft base board for her which I intend making into a fictional village scene hopefully with a tunnel, pond and maybe a small farm.  

Hopefully, this will be an ongoing project and I will blog each step as I go (even the mistakes, because there are bound to be some).

Off to play and probably to order some flexible track etc.
